AH Betaine HCl + Pepsin is a dietary supplement containing a synergistic combination of betaine hydrochloride with pepsin. It is intended for healthy adults.

Betaine hydrochloride
Due to the presence of hydrochloric acid (HCl) in the molecule, betaine hydrochloride has a very acidic reaction - pH is in the range of 0.8-1.2. It is particularly eagerly supplemented by people with stomach hypoacidity, as a source of hydrochloric acid, such as naturally occurs in gastric juice.
Pepsin
Pepsin is a proteolytic enzyme - it participates in the digestion of proteins. It is naturally produced in the human stomach in the form of pepsinogen. Pepsin breaks down long protein chains into shorter fragments, or polypeptides. This supplement uses natural pepsin obtained through fermentation by the fungus Aspergillus niger. It has high enzymatic activity (2000 SAPU/g), making it effective in small quantities. The pepsin contained in one capsule of this supplement generates activity of up to 200 SAPU.
