You have got questions about the product

In the last batches of Apollo's Hegemony products, another glue was used for lids under the caps. The glue is weaker than previously used, this is why the lid often stays inside the cap when unscrewing the bottle. This does not affect the quality of products because during storage the lid adheres to the bottle and protects its contents.

Apollo’s Hegemony Methyl B12 PLUS is an innovative combination providing as much as 1,000 mg of vitamin B12 and 25 mg of niacin per capsule. The supplement stands out with the content of methylcobalamin, the most bioavailable form of cobalamin (vitamin B12).

The product is a versatile health-promoting agent. The activity of vitamin B12 is particularly tangible in the aspect of enhanced methylation, the process determining the organism’s overall metabolic efficacy. Cobalamin also plays a very important role in the process of red blood cell production and neurotransmitter synthesis. The other ingredient in the supplement, niacin, is beneficial for the quality of cognitive functions, normalises the lipid profile, and it is a coenzyme in many metabolic processes. It also exhibits preventive activity regarding nervous system diseases.

Vitamin B12 – also called cobalamin, belongs to the group of essential water-soluble vitamins. It can be found in various forms in supplements – in this product, base-on cobalamin in the methylated form was used, which guarantees full absorbability of the consumed substance.

Cobalamin and methylation
In order to understand how important vitamin B12 is for the normal functioning of the organism, one should first get familiar with the process called methylation. It consists in enriching certain chemical compounds on metabolic pathways with a methyl group obtained from a methionine molecule. That way the organism converts nutrients and vitamins consumed with food to assimilable forms. Cobalamin participates in methylation processes by constituting a crucial coenzyme in the conversion of homocysteine into methionine and of methylmalonyl-CoA into succinyl-CoA.

Vitamin B12 supplementation is important because of a growing number of people suffering from methylation disorders. Recent research suggests that even half of the world has methylation disorders, resulting mainly from intensive lifestyle and excessive anti-nutritional factors in the diet. The mutation of the gene MTHFR can also be observed more and more often; the condition is connected with genetically predetermined lack of substrates for efficient methylation. Cobalamin supplies the essential coenzyme, that way helping a great deal to improve the process.

It should also be mentioned that vitamin B12 supplementation in people with methylation disorders has two sides. On the one hand, it enhanced the process, and on the other, only the methylated form of the vitamin is assimilable for the organism; therefore, people with methylation disorders do not benefit from supplementation using the “bare” forms of cobalamin. In that case, vitamin B12 molecules are blocked in peripheral blood. The solution for the situation is methylating the vitamin at the production stage, which is exactly what happened in this supplement. That way it constitutes a fantastic choice that helps to solve methylation problems efficiently.

Vitamin B12 and erythropoiesis
Cobalamin is also a factor controlling the production of red blood cells in the process of erythropoiesis. After binding in the stomach with the so-called intrinsic factor, it is absorbed to the blood from the small intestine, where it enters the pathway of reticulocyte transformations, reticulocyte being the primary form of a red blood cell. Vitamin B12 deficiency results in improper erythrocyte formation which can be noticed in the form of macrocytes – overgrown, malfunctioning blood cells. In the case of extremely low cobalamin supply, malignant anaemia develops, a condition also called vitamin B12 deficiency anaemia.

Genetic function regulation
Vitamin B12 is also extremely important in the processes of genome formation and modification. First of all, it participates in the conversion of 2-methyltetrahydrofuran to tetrahydrofolate, which enables the smooth synthesis of nucleic acids, the basic component of nucleotides that form DNA strands. Secondly, it gives centromeres and subtelomeres structural stability, through which it guarantees the normal formation of chromosomes in the process of DNA replication that takes place constantly in every cell of the organism.

Neurotransmitter biosynthesis
Cobalamin regulates the synthesis of 5-hydroxytryptamine, commonly known as serotonin. It belongs to the group of stimulant neurotransmitters and by being active through serotonergic receptors it is responsible for regulating body temperature, drowsiness, appetite, and sex drive.

Vitamin B12 also affects choline synthesis, the substance that is modified in the organism to lecithin which stimulates the functioning of the brain, and to acetylcholine, a major stimulant neurotransmitter responsible for the normal functioning of every system in the organism. Choline itself also helps to maintain the muscle of coronary arteries by increasing their lumen.

Niacinvitamin B3, a term used for referring to two compounds: nicotinic acid and nicotinamide. It mainly plays the role of a coenzyme for many metabolic processes in the organism.

Regulating energy processes
Niacin is a substrate in the process of two extremely important coenzymes: NAD+ and NADP+. NAD+ in its reduced form is a major electron transporter in nearly all redox reactions in the human organism, which are the basic mechanism of energy production. Its concentration is, therefore, a direct metabolism regulator in all cells of the body. NADP+, on the other hand, is essential for most anabolic reactions in the organism.

Regulation of the lipid profile
Vitamin B3 is believed to be one of the most efficient drugs when it comes to lipid profile regulation. It balances the concentration of lipoproteins by reducing LDL levels and increasing HDL, decreases total cholesterol and triglyceride levels. It also has the ability to regulate triglyceride transporters, that is chylomicrons and VLDL molecules. Moreover, it stimulates adiponectin production, that way reducing the risk of developing circulatory system diseases, like the infamous atherosclerosis.

Nervous system protection
Niacin constitutes a powerful neuroprotective barrier. Research demonstrates the efficacy of using it for preventing strokes and Parkinson’s disease. That effect is achieved thanks to niacin’s ability to stimulate the growth factor of vascular endothelium which activates the pathway of phosphoinositide 3-kinase, a neuron apoptosis inhibitor. Moreover, niacin has been demonstrated to be an efficient agent in fighting the development of foetal alcohol syndrome caused by the neurodegenerative activity of ethanol.

TNF-α activity inhibition
Vitamin B3 exhibits the ability to inhibit the synthesis of the cytokine TNF-α, responsible for increased susceptibility to allergies, autoimmune diseases, and insulin resistance in peripheral tissues, which is the first step towards developing type 2 diabetes.

Niacin and mental health
Vitamin B3 has a wide range of effects on the human mental health. Its deficiencies are connected with the development of depression and schizophrenia. It is used in large doses as an efficient drug in treating anxiety and addictions.

To sum up, Methyl B12 PLUS is a versatile product concentrated mainly on improving methylation, which translates into the enhanced functioning of nearly all systems in the organism. Along with additional benefits of supplementing vitamin B12 and niacin, the supplement constitutes multifaceted support for the health of the entire body.

What is methylcobalamin?

Methylcobalamin is a biologically active form of vitamin B12. It is one of the two forms of this vitamin that may be used as cofactors in various reactions. It differs from popular cyanocobalamin in the presence of methyl group instead of cyanide, thanks to which it releases the organism from the need of neutralizing this harmful factor.

The methyl group from methylcobalamin may be transferred to homocysteine, thanks to which it comes back in the form of methionine in order to be further converted to SAMe, which is the main donor of methyl groups in our organism. These methyl groups may be then used in the processes of creatine production, in neurotransmitter metabolism and as DNA methylation, thanks to which we achieve proper energy level, better well-being and generally better condition of the organism. B12 is a coenzyme for three enzymes: isomerase, methyltransferase and dehalogenase.

Apart from the influence on the nervous system, the supply of vitamin B12 is also very important for the proper synthesis of red cells as well as hemoglobin and anemia prevention.

Methylcobalamin in mono-supplements and complex vitamin preparations may be found in the offer of

Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3 (vitamin PP, niacin, nicotinic acid, nicotinamide) is niacinamide niacin. It is used in interaction with vitamins B1, B2 and B6 in the synthesis of hormones during lactation. It provides proper functioning of the brain and nervous system. It is helpful in inflammatory conditions of the skin. Required for synthesis of sex hormone, estrogen, testosterone, cortisone, and insulin. It does not lose its properties in the manufacturing and storage. The source of acquiring vitamins PP are both products of animal origin (the lean meat, eggs, fish) and vegetable origin (dates, figs, hazelnuts, plums).
