Apollo’s Hegemony BHB is a dietary supplement containing easily assimilable mineral salts (calcium, sodium, and potassium) of beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) in the form of powder. The composition of the preparation is also complemented with magnesium malate.

The preparation helps to increase ketone levels in the blood and is a pro-ketogenic signal, thanks to which it is beneficial for the process of keto-adaptation and helps the organism to adjust to obtain energy from ketones faster. BHB selectively modulates endoplasmic reticulum stress, which develops as a result of the activity of reactive oxygen species and can lead to disorders in protein properties or their functions, as well as causes increased expression of enzymes that neutralise free oxygen radicals. Eliminating endoplasmic stress by BHB takes place above all thanks to its ability to inhibit the activity of inflammasomes, thanks to which the activity of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is stimulated, an enzyme which plays a role of the so-called switch in a situation of oxidative stress and constitutes the main regulator of energy homeostasis.

The phenomenon of the stress that takes place in endoplasmic reticulum can be one of the factors that contribute to the development of chronic inflammatory diseases, especially autoimmune or neurodegenerative ones, for example Alzheimer’s disease, as well as to obesity, insulin sensitivity, or hyperinsulinemia.

Neuroprotective and neurotrophic properties of BHB
BHB affects the expression of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) in the hippocampus, which has a neuroprotective effect and stimulates the growth and multiplication of neurons. Moreover, BHB stimulates the release of neurotransmitters in the hippocampus, exhibits anxiolytic and antidepressant effects, and helps to enhance cognitive functions with a simultaneous stimulant effect.

BHB (β-hydroxybutyrate) is a substance, which naturally appears in the organism and is synthesized mainly in the case of: large calorie deficit, fast, considerable restriction of carbohydrate supply, intensive workouts and certainly properly carried out ketogenic diet.

BHB has many interesting applications, mainly in cognitive and workout aspects, therefore supplementation with BHB is recommended both to physically active people (especially before and after workout) as well as to those who work intellectually.

BHB increases mind clarity and enables the achievement of full concentration, influences well-being, increases energy supplies and delays the feeling of fatigue. These effects result from i.a. its anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective activity.

Supplementation with exogenous BHB (available in the form of easily assimilable mineral salts of calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium) may constitute special support for people on ketogenic diet and may also alleviate the symptoms of keto-adaptation and accelerate its process. It may also enable increasing a daily limit of carbohydrates.



Potassium and sodium regulate the body's water resources, ensuring normal heart rhythm. Maintaining the proper level of potassium provides the proper oxidation of the brain, lowers blood pressure, increases the permeability of cell membranes (as an antagonist of calcium). It is a base-forming element. It is widely used in sports diet before and after training in the form of supplements, nutrients, vitamin-mineral preparations and minerals, concentrates and ready, isotonic and hypertonic beverages.
