Aliness Evening primrose oil is a dietary supplement containing unrefined cold pressed evening primrose seed oil, which is extremely rich in unsaturated omega-6 fatty acids, especially linoleic acid (LA) and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).
The product shows a wide spectrum of health-promoting properties. It positively affects the functions of the circulatory system, promotes the normalization of blood pressure and helps to lower cholesterol. In addition, it supports the treatment of dermatological diseases (AD, acne, eczema). It is also recommended for women struggling with arduous PMS symptoms and mastalgia.
Evening primrose oil is obtained from seeds of a plant called a common primrose (Oenotherae biennis). The crucial is the production technology – cold pressing and resignation from refining that allow the preservation of all valuable nutrients, which increases the value of the oil. The pro-health properties of evening primrose oil are primarily due to the presence of essential fatty acids (EFA).
Evening primrose seeds contain nearly 20% of oil, which consists of about 80% of linoleic acid, 7% -10% of γ-linolenic acid (GLA) and a little amount of oleic, palmitic and stearic acids. Importantly, evening primrose seed oil is extremely bio-available.
Cardiovascular health
Thanks to the high content of essential fatty acids, evening primrose oil helps to reduce the risk factors of cardiovascular disease, which include: too high level of cholesterol and triglycerides, hypertension and excessive aggregation of platelets.
This is largely due to the gamma-linolenic acid, or more precisely its metabolite, i.e. PGE1 prostaglandin. It helps to relax the blood vessels and promotes proper blood flow. In addition, it protects against the pathological clumping of platelets, reducing the tendency of clot formation.
In animal studies, it has been shown that the introduction of evening primrose oil results in an improved lipid profile and normalization of blood pressure. In addition, it helps to reduce the intensity of inflammation, which also contributes to the etiology of cardiovascular disease.
The antidote for skin problems
Evening primrose oil has a very beneficial effect on the condition of the skin. It favors the improvement of its elasticity and firmness, promotes the proper level of hydration, soothes the roughness. It is worth remembering that the ceramides present in the stratum corneum contain a large amount of linoleic acid. A deficiency of this compound increases the risk of lipid layer damage, which leads to disorders of the barrier function of the skin. In turn, a deficiency of gamma-linolenic acid promotes pathological inflammatory reactions.
Evening primrose oil can also be used in the treatment of dermatological diseases. It works great in patients with acne – it eases the intensity of inflammation and reduces the extent of efflorescence on the skin. It is also recommended for people suffering from atopic dermatitis. It helps to reduce itching and dryness of the skin and contributes to the regression of rash.
Stabilization of cell membranes
The high content of GLA acid gives reasons for using evening primrose oil in the treatment of such diseases as diabetic neuropathy, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. Researchers have found a close correlation between the reduced EFA levels (mainly GLA) and the occurrence of these diseases. It seems that GLA acid, as a component of biological membranes, promotes their stabilization and improves transport across cell membranes. In addition, there are many animal studies that show that evening primrose reduces the disintegration of myelin and promotes the reconstruction of damaged nerves.
Health prophylaxis of women
Evening primrose oil is often recommended for women. Some studies have suggested that it may alleviate the symptoms known as premenstrual syndrome (PMS). According to the subjective opinion of the study participants who supplemented evening primrose oil, the back pain subsided and the swelling decreased. Women also reported an improvement in psychological well-being – their mood stabilized, they were less sensitive and less prone to crying. It was also observed that evening primrose oil turns to be very helpful in case of mastalgia (breast pain), especially if it is caused by premenstrual syndrome.
In summary, Aliness Evening primrose oil is an effective way to increase the supply of a very important compound, namely the gamma-linolenic acid. The supplement is recommended especially for people struggling with skin problems and women suffering from premenstrual syndrome. In addition, the preparation can be used as part of the prevention of heart and cardiovascular diseases.
During the supplementation with preparations containing evening primrose oil, it is also worth to ensure an adequate supply of omega-3 acids. This is to align the ratio between omega-3 and omega-6 intake.
Evening primrose oil may potentially slow blood clotting. Keep this in mind if you have problems with normal blood clotting, or if you are taking blood thinners (even popular aspirin or warfarin).

BuyEvening primrose oil – a source of essential unsaturated fatty acids, mainly omega-6. Linoleic acid, associated with healthy carbohydrate metabolism, is the predominant one. It is indicated that impaired conversion of linoleic acid occurs in diabetics and its increased intake may reduce symptoms of diabetes.
Furthermore, evening primrose oil is valued for its beneficial impact on the cardiovascular system. It inhibits blood platelet aggregation and has the ability to optimise the lipid profile. Owing to that, it is an effective way to prevent cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, in multiple ways.
Evening primrose oil is often recommended to individuals who want to improve the condition of their joints. It stimulates the regeneration of joint cartilage and may reduce symptoms of rheumatism. Furthermore, it is said that it promotes fertility both in women (due to its beneficial impact on endometrium) and men (by improving semen quality).
When taking dietary evening primrose supplements, we should pay attention to their storage. As a source of EFAs, this oil is sensitive to sunlight and heat. Because of that, it should be kept in a dark, cold place.
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA - unsaturated fatty acid from the Omega 6 group, present in plant foods and is synthesized within the human body from linoleic acid. Participates in the synthesis of eicosanoids. Increases immunity. GLA deficiency impairs the skin, hair and nails condition. It is an additional component of supplements containing essential fatty acids (EFAs) complemented with vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties, available at www.muscle-zone.pl
Dosage: the proportions of the ratio between Omega 3 and Omega 6 in the ratio of 1: 1 to 1: 5 enables flexible dosing.
Linoleic acid, the unsaturated Omega 6 fatty acid, is not intracorporeal synthesized, it is supplied in foods of plant origin (including sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, soybeans, hazelnuts, the seeds of grapes, etc.) and in foods of animal origin. It is involved in the biosynthesis of arachidonic acid needed for the production of prostaglandins. In a normal diet using the above food component it is sufficient and does not require support supplementation. Rarely used in dietary supplements, usually combined with EPA, DHA and ALA; It is a component of supplements containing essential fatty acids (EFAs), often in combination with vitamin E, which is protecting the fatty acids from oxidation. It is recommended to to take linoleic acid in proportion to the Omega 3 acids (in the range between of 1: 1 to 1: 5). As a component of cell membranes is responsible for the condition of the skin, hair loss, healing of cuts and small wounds. Studies confirm its effect on reducing the risk of heart disease. Preparations available at www.muscle-zone.pl
Dosage: the most important is to keep the balance between Omega 3 and Omega 6 acids. When proportions are kept, the quantity is not significant.
Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a fat soluble. Due to its antioxidant action, it is a protection of other vitamins (e.g. Vitamins A). Protects the body against free radicals, strengthens the walls of blood vessels and its capacity, causing their dilation and dissolution of blood clots. With the reduction of coagulation, it is used as an antiatherogenic medicine, it allows for the proper course of pregnancy. In cooperation with selenium it slows the ageing process of cells, strengthening connective tissue. In the food it is present in whole-grain bread, sprout and grains, vegetable oils (soybean, sunflower), soya beans and sunflower seeds, vegetable fat and hen egg yolks. Also it is used in sports medicine in the form of nutrients and supplements.
Vitamin E deficiency reduces building of red blood cells, results in changes in muscle and disorders of pregnancies.
Dosage: for children, 0.5 mg / 1 kg of weight; for adults 10-30 mg per day.
D-alpha-tocopherol – a natural form of vitamin E which is indicated as the most optimum for supplementation. It helps correct effectively deficiencies of this compound which is extremely crucial for the human body.
Vitamin E is a very important bioactive substance found in many tissues and required for normal functioning of the body. Its deficiencies may be manifested by impaired cognitive abilities and vision, muscle weakness and infertility. It is involved in erythropoiesis and that is why its low intake may lead to anaemia.
In addition, vitamin E has an important role as an antioxidant in the human body. It has the ability to reduce the amount of free radicals, thereby decreasing negative oxidative stress.
During supplementation with d-alpha-tocopherol, we should remember that it belongs to fat-soluble compounds, along with vitamin A, D and K. Because of that, supplements with vitamin E should be taken with a fat-containing meal.
