Joint Flex with UC-II & Curcumin C3 Complex from Doctor’s Best is a dietary supplement containing in its composition collagen UC-II® at the dose of 40 mg and Curcumin C3 Complex® - turmeric extract standardized for the content of 95% curcuminoids at the dose of 500 mg in one capsule.
A unique form contained in the supplement is based on the synergistic effect of active ingredients, the task of which is to maintain health, elasticity and mobility of joints and tendons. Carefully selected and natural collagen supports regeneration of the skeletal and muscle system and an additive of high-quality curcumin has anti-inflammatory effect, which prevents the creation of injuries and problems with joints.
Joint Flex with UC-II & Curcumin C3 Complex contains in its composition:
Collagen – the main protein of connective tissue and the component of tendons, responsible for elasticity and flexibility of skin. It contains large amounts of proline and glycine as well as hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine. It is characterized by high resistance to stretching – its deficiency leads to the creation of wrinkles and loss of skin firmness. It is commonly used as a component of anti-wrinkle cosmetics.
Curcuma – a plant also known as turmeric, is the source of three most important active ingredients: curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin, responsible for its pro-health properties. Curcuma supports the work of the brain thanks to its properties, regenerating and proliferating brain cells – neurons. By the same token, it improves cognitive functions, concentration and memory as well as general mental efficiency. It demonstrates the effect stimulating the work of the digestive system, intensifies the secretion of gastrin, secretin and pancreatic enzymes and it activates the secretion of bile. It has strong antibacterial properties (it is especially helpful in infections with H.pylori) as well as antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties.
The ability to synthesize and produce collagen in the organism is decreased with age. It is believed that after the age of 40, the production of collagen is decreased by more than 50%. It may lead to joint stiffness, weaker elasticity and toughness of cartilage, ligament and tendon ruptures, bone decalcification, leading to increased susceptibility to fractures and fragility.
Collagen is used in mild symptoms related to osteoarthritis of the knee and many other diseases characterized with malfunction of the osteoarticular system. It decidedly decreases pain, stiffness of joints and tendons, accelerates regeneration and time of recovery.
Especially physically active people, physical workers, people with excess weight and elderly people should pay attention to supplementation with collagen. In these cases, joints and the whole skeletal system is severely burdened and the risk of injuries is decidedly higher.
An additive of curcuma provides great effect reducing and inhibiting inflammations in joints, tendons and muscles. Active substances demonstrate the effect decreasing the activity of inflammatory cytokines thanks to reduction of the factor TNF-a. Considerable drop of C-reactive protein (CPR) was also noticed, which is considered one of the most important markers of chronic inflammation, by inhibiting the expression of proteins, responsible for the creation of inflammation.
Curcumin contained in turmeric is used in RA - rheumatoid arthritis caused by autoimmune factors. It was proven in clinical studies that supplementation for 8 weeks with the dose 800 mg resulted in considerable decrease of inflammation (by ca. 45%), which significantly improved life quality and well-being of patients.
Curcuma contained in the preparation has strong antioxidant effect on the cells of the organism. It decreases excessive oxidative stress, caused by imbalance between the amount of antioxidants and free radicals. Such a state in the organism may cause DNA damage, cell mutations and inflammations in the whole organism. Antioxidant properties of curcuma influence the decrease of damages caused by reactive oxygen forms and restore homeostasis of the organism.
Influence on skin
The combination of collagen and curcuma provide positive influence on the condition and health of skin. It maintains its elasticity, flexibility and firmness. It facilitates healing of wounds, scratches, burns and scrapes. Active ingredients influence healthy and bright appearance of skin thanks to antiseptic properties – they eliminate toxins and skin contamination.
To sum up, Joint Flex with UC-II & Curcumin C3 Complex is a professional dietary supplement, using synergistic effect of active ingredients taking care of healthy and strong joints. Additionally, it demonstrates the properties decreasing pain and excessive oxidative stress and improves the appearance of skin. The product is recommended to sportsmen, elderly people and patients after injuries.
In case of a more serious injury or after surgery, it is recommended to consider additional supplementation with vitamin C, MSM or glucosamine.
