  • Can affect mood and the quality of sleep

Now Foods, L-Tryptophan is a dietary supplement that contains 500 mg of l-tryptophan in one tablet. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that is not synthesised in the body and must be therefore obtained from the diet. The product has a positive effect on the quality of sleep, resulting in better regeneration of the body.

Tryptophan – belongs to the group of indispensible amino acids, essential in the human body, performing a wide variety of functions. It plays a major role in regulating the nervous system by the synthesis of serotonin which significantly improves the mood, while its low level can cause irritation, a worse mood and insomnia, consequently leading to depressive states.

In addition, this element is involved in the production of melatonin which is responsible for the quality of sleep, positively affecting the regeneration of the body. Tryptophan takes part also in the regulation of metabolism by reducing the appetite and that's why it's used in some weight loss products.

Apart from the above functions, tryptophan also affects vision. In order to protect from sun rays, the eye produces its own chemical UV filter from compounds formed in the decomposition of trypthophan whose quantity declines with age. Because of that, the right amount of this substance in the diet is needed for the eye protection.

Another advantage of tryptophan is its effect on the human immune system by increasing the immunity of the human body.

To sum up, Now Foods L-Tryptophan is a dietary supplement which will promote well-being, restore equilibrium and ensure a peaceful sleep.

A derivative of 5-HTP in the decarboxylation is a precursor of serotonin ((tissue hormone having an effect on blood pressure and peristalsis), and the subsequent processes of melatonin (the hormone sleep). It is used for synthesis of nicotinic acid (niacin, known as vitamin PP). The due to the appetite suppressant is also used in certain weight loss formulations.
Even a small deficiency is dangerous for the course of many physiological processes, can cause the nervous system deterioration of mood, insomnia, and disturbances in the digestive process. Tryptophan deficiency in the long term leads to depression and neurological disorders.
Mono-preparation supplements of tryptophan are recommended as a means of reducing the stress and reducing the feeling of insomnia. A part of the nutritional supplements type of EAA and all-day aminoacids, it is a valuable component of protein supplements. Available in store
