It is used as an aphrodisiac. The root of the plant is a rich source of bioactive compounds (phytosterols, glycosides, withanolides etc.). The sports supplementation, herbal preparations, a positive effect on the nervous system (reduces stress, and accelerates the adaptation to changing conditions psychophysical), hematopoietic and immune systems. It has a decisive influence on the process of synthesis of nitrogen oxides and the level of certain hormones, including testosterone (e.g. improving sexual functions).
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a component of the complex herbal supplements (as well as sets of adaptogens) increase the level of the male sex hormone (testosterone), supporting the sexual function of the body, supporting regeneration and having a calming effect.
Dosage: 300-600 mg of extract per day.
Flavonoids are derivatives of chromone, their rich source of vitamin P (includes routine and quercetin and other flavonoids). They have the ability to restore flexibility of blood vessels, facilitating the work of the heart muscle (antiatherogenic action). They are an antitoxin for myocardial toxication with lactic acid. Used in inflammatory conditions of the urinary system, also they have a diuretic effect. Delay diabetes, help to keep the body's balance of sugar. The raw material of flavonoids are, for example, elderberry (leaves and fruit), bearberry leaves and birch, horsetail herb, knotweed. They are a shield against ultraviolet, and the protection of the body when exposed to radioactive elements during cancer radiation therapy. The most popular of them - routine, can be used without any side effects, even for a period of one year. Flavonoids are poorly soluble in water, and hence usually their alcoholic extraction are used
Chlorella (green algae) - a single-celled algae living in freshwater and in a humid environment, it contains many nutrients: sugar alcohols, phytosterols, carrageenan, carotenoids, minerals (magnesium, potassium and sodium), laminarin, terpenoids and vitamins (group B, C , E). It is an effective antioxidant. The active ingredients are antibacterial, immune, inflammatory and strengthening. Mineral salts (alginates) stimulate collagen synthesis and phytosterols participate in the production of elastin. It is used in cosmetic formulations and in the category of "health and beauty", it is a component of dietary supplements that affect the various body functions.
Uva Ursi (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), of which a raw material is medical leaf (Folium Uvae-ursi), which is a rich source of active substances: flavonoids, phenolic glycosides, tannins, organic acids, mucus, triterpenes and resins. An important component is arbutin, having a diuretic effect (allowing for the removal of excess fluid out of the body), and anti-bacteria, against bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. It also acts as an astringent, stopping bleeding from damaged blood vessels. In the sports supplementation it is used due to the diuretic potential, it is used in programs to improve the aesthetics of the body and the composition and in certaincweight loss thermogenic supplements, available at www.muscle-zone.pl.
Note: In Poland, bearberry is under partial protection. A cautious use is also recommended and time limits for use, as there may be side effects (symptoms of hydroquinone poisoning- nausea, stomach irritation, anaemia).
Dosage depends on the quality and concentration of raw materials, note the comment regarding the duration of use and dose.
Gingerols - contained in the ginger rhizome active ingredients are derivatives of phenylpropane. Anti-inflammatory, diaphoretic, warming and regulating the digestive system and digestive tract. They are an antioxidant that reduces oxidation of LDL cholesterol and the building-up of atherosclerotic plaques, lower blood pressure. They also are used in the supplements for the reduction of body fat. When combined with glucosamine, chondroitin and curcumin allow for the regeneration of joints. In the In the sports supplementation they are used for their anti-inflammatory potential, facilitating treatment and rehabilitation after injuries of motoric organs.
Dosage: 10-20 mg per day.
Buchu - Bukko birch (Agathosma betulina) - a plant derived from the mountainous areas of South Africa, buchu leaves are diuretic and anti-inflammatory (remove excess water accumulated in the body and help to remove the toxins). Their essential oils have been used as additives for flavoring teas and alcohol. Buchu leaves are a component of thermogenic, slimming and detoxifying supplements.
Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) species of parsley with a wide culinary and medicinal use (basically, each of its parts underground and aboveground), which is reach of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, phytosterols, essential oil, oil, fat, vitamins and minerals, and apigenin, prevents the development of cancer (angiogenesis inhibition). In the sports supplementation, its diuretic potential is used, allowing for almost immediate release of water from the body, for keeping the weight limit and affect the aesthetics of the figure, by increasing glomerular filtration rate while slowing resorption and increasing the capacity of the urinary tract. Formulations containing parsley used in the aqueous extracts, are available on the www.muscle-zone.pl

Sodium is an important component of the intracellular fluids, and is a regulator of acid-base balance. Along with potassium affects the proper of growth and provides the proper functioning of muscles and nerves. The source of acquisition is table salt (NaCl) and bladderwrack, shellfish, bacon, beef, and of plant beets and carrots. People on salt-free diet should avoid, among others, spicy sauces and smoked meats and sausages.
Sodium deficiency is very rare, at heaving sweating after a long effort (e.g. in the marathon).
Excess sodium increases blood pressure (especially for the elderly), edema and increased thirst. Exceeding the daily dose of 14g a day can cause poisoning.
Copper - trace mineral that facilitates the introduction of iron into hemoglobin, allowing the correct functioning of antioxidant processes. It is an important component of enzymes that affect the processes of aerobic metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism and in the formation of collagen. With proper diet, do not use supplements containing copper, as an overdose can cause insomnia, hair loss. It occurs in foods such as legumes, offal, plums, seafood. Copper compounds must be used in a responsible way, because many of them have toxic properties.
Dosing: A sufficient amount of copper provides proper diet.
What is Chlorophyllin?
Chlorophyllin is a derivative of chlorophyll – the green colourant present in plants. It is obtained in the process of alkaline hydrolysis by splitting off phytol and chlorophyll. The difference between chlorophyllin and chlorophyll also lies in the replacement of magnesium as the central atom for copper. Chlorophyllin is much more stable, it is more resistant to light and pH changes.
Chlorophyllin can potentially prevent anaemia and support red blood cell production, thanks to which it helps to distribute oxygen more efficiently. It can also be helpful in removing excess heavy metals from the organism, preventing the body from their toxicity and from the damage of important structures. It exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, inhibits TNF-alpha, and neutralises excess free oxygen radicals. Moreover, it supports the functioning of the digestive system by stimulating intestinal peristalsis and modulating the content of the microbiome thanks to its antimicrobial properties.
Chlorophyllin can be found in supplements offered by muscle-zone.pl.
Chlorophylls are green pigments present in the chloroplasts of plants, allow the conversion of solar energy (light) into chemical energy (heat). This photosynthesis phenomenon causes a lot of, even very complex, chemical reactions, for example. as a result of its action, some amino acids are formed. Used in the drainage products and as a colourant in the industry
Proprietary blend - is a complex of bioactive ingredients in the proportions, which are covered by the manufacturer's patent. According to the law in force in Poland, the components of the blend are known, and , by the place on the packaging, you can identify which components are in bigger amount (the components are listed in the decreasing order of amounts).
Proprietary blends are used in many food supplements, such as creatine stacks, no-boosters, fat burners and pro-testosterone supplements, improving libido.
Slippery Elm is a tree native to North America which can live up to 200 years. Its bark is widely used for digestive disorders.
The bark is a source of starch and mucilage, which shows a soothing and protective effect on mucosa, especially in the digestive system. This raw material is used in traditional medicine for inflammation and ulceration of the stomach and duodenum, heartburn, diarrhoea, small wounds and burns and sore throat. In addition, slippery elm is applied for urinary aliments – it exerts antibacterial properties, preventing infections, and reduces symptoms of bacterial infections, such as burning or pain.
Bioactive components of mucilage include hexoses, pentoses, methylpentoses and polyuronides. The plant has been also shown to contain, among others, tannins, phytosterols, calcium oxalate, sesquiterpenes, flavonoids and salicylic acid.
Supplements with the inner bark of slippery elm are recommended for, among others, digestive disorders (heartburn, irritation of the throat and oesophagus, digestive discomfort, diarrhoea and intestinal motility disorders) and urinary infections.
Pectin is a mixture of amorphous sugars, of a high molecular weight (polygalacturonic acid chain combined with methanol [esterification] with branches side formed by arabinose and galactose. Pectin is fibre soluble in water (hot or cold) and therefore not subject to the process of digestion by enzymes synthesized by the body. They are found in products of plant origin (fruit, vegetables, etc.). Consumption of products containing pectin reduces hunger, improves the function of the digestive tract and reduces levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the blood.. Pectins bind ions of heavy metals and break down the bacterial flora in the intestine thick. the most effective action (compaction) show in an acidic environment (pH≤ 6) and in the presence of sugars. They are a component of the nutrients concentrates and supplements in capsules, available at www.muscle-zone.pl
Dosage: the lack of standards for daily consumption. A taken dose dependens on the purpose and individual needs
Glucomannan is a water-soluble polysaccharide found in cell walls of some plant species (e.g. Amorphophallus konjac). Its chemical structure is not very complex – it is comprised primarily of a simple chain with a small amount of branching, including β-D-glucose and β-D-mannose residues and acetyl groups. They are combined predominantly by β-1,4 linkages. Amylase found in human saliva cannot cleave them. Because of that, after ingestion, glucomannan reaches the colon almost intact and then is broken down by intestinal bacteria.
Glucomannan has a high molecular weight and strong hygroscopic properties. It is estimated that it has the ability to absorb 50 times its weight in water. It swells up quickly in the body, slows down the absorption of food and gives you a satisfying feeling of fullness. It helps stabilise blood sugar levels and may also contribute to lowering cholesterol concentrations. Like other forms of dietary fibre, it stimulates intestinal motility and promotes bowel movement.
Glucomannan is a popular ingredient of supplements aimed at controlling appetite and reducing body weight.
Dosage: No official guidelines.
The most frequent recommended dosage is 1-5 g once or twice daily, about one hour before a meal.
Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Mill.) is a tropical and subtropical plant originating from Mediterranean countries, which finds application mainly in dermatology and cosmetology (topical effect) and oral application positively influences the functioning of the digestive system.
The flesh of aloe leaves is mainly composed of water (96%), however, the remaining 4% is constituted by a concentrated dose of nutrients and substances with high biological activity. Aloe contains i.a. fiber, fatty acids, amino acids (including 7 exogenous amino acids), polysaccharides, glycoproteins, plant enzymes (including SOD - superoxide dismutase) as well as vitamins and mineral ingredients.
The internal activity of aloe is mainly directed at regulating the work of the digestive system. Aloe has antibacterial and antifungal effect, supports the treatment of stomach ulcers, alleviates inflammations, facilitates the organism’s detoxification and positively influences microflora of the digestive system, stimulating the growth of probiotic bacteria.
External activity of aloe - on skin - contributes to strengthening the barrier of epidermis and also facilitates repair processes in skin, counteracts infections, stimulates the production of new collagen fibers. Additionally, it has softening and shielding effect.
