Trec Collagen Renover is a complex of two ingredients - collagen hydrolysate and vitamin C, the compounds which are essential in connective tissue regeneration, which builds i.a. cartilages, bones, joints and skin.

Collagen is the main component of connective tissue, which makes it elastic and resistant to stretching - thanks to its proper concentration, skin looks young and osseous and cartilaginous tissues have proper mechanical resistance. The form of hydrolysate in the supplement is pure collagen with high bioavailability.

Vitamin C, also called ascorbic acid, is responsible for a range of functions in the organism. Its form contained in the supplement intensifies the process of biosynthesis and building collagen in connective tissue, works like an effective antioxidant and increases bioavailability of zinc and iron.

Strong structure of connective tissue
The main protein building extracellular matrix and being the component of connective tissue is collagen. It appears both in the proper connective tissue as well as in supportive tissues - cartilaginous and osseous. We may distinguish a few types, depending on the structure and place of appearance, the most important are the ones, which will take the structure of fibers - type I appearing in skin and type II building cartilages and bones.

Collagen biosynthesis encompasses intra- and extracellular stages and its complexity conditions the occurrence of fibers composed of 3 twisted spirals with the structure similar to a rope or cord. All of this is possible thanks to the characteristic sequence of amino acids - glycine-X-Y, where there is proline for X and hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine for Y - amino acids with untypical structure, which occur as a result of post-translation processing. It takes place in the participation of hydroxylases, copper and vitamin C, therefore, along with collagen, they condition proper structure of bones, skin and the osteoarticular apparatus.

Structure of supportive tissues
Osseous and cartilaginous tissues are formed by three types of cells - mature cells (chondro- and osteocytes), actively synthesizing the elements of the matrix (collagen, proteoglycans and other proteins - chondro- and osteoblasts) and also modified macrophages, i.e. cells resorbing bones and cartilages, taking part in the process of their reconstruction (chondro- and osteoclasts). Along with age and among people prone to injuries during practicing sports, degeneration of osseous and cartilaginous elements of joints takes place - inflammatory enzymes secreted by cells lead to destroying organic and non-organic elements, therefore proper supplementation is important.

Other properties of vitamin C
Moreover, ascorbic acid is an essential chemical compound, necessary for the synthesis of catecholamines - hormones as well as neurotransmitters obtained from the amino acid tyrosine, which are produced in the following sequence: tyrosine-dopamine-noradrenaline-adrenaline. Its presence is especially important to perform the reaction of creating noradrenaline, which plays a role of the hormone (i.a. it takes part in lipolysis and increasing blood pressure) and the neurotransmitter (it takes part in regulation of sleep).

Additionally, vitamin C, in cooperation with vitamin E play a role of intracellular antioxidants. Due to the environment of activity, alpha-tocopherol reduces free radicals remaining as a result of oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids released from cell membranes, while ascorbic acid, as a compound soluble in water and occurring in cytosol reduces the oxidized form of vitamin E.

Antioxidant effect along with promoting endothelial synthase of nitric oxide (which results in its increased production) is reflected in practice primarily in preventing diseases of the cardiovascular system, including atherosclerosis and hypertension.

Collagen is a major component that builds connective tissue (tendons, ligaments cartilage, bone, and blood vessels) from the group of fibrous proteins (i.e. scleroprotein), representing a quarter of the content of protein in the body. It is composed of amino acids (glycine, hydroxylysine, hydroxyproline and proline). Distinguished are eight types of collagen located in different parts of the human body. The source of the acquisition is gelatin (a component of the connective tissue of animal origin). It occurs most frequently in the form of processed collagen hydrolyzate characterized by a high and a good absorbency of amino acids. Recommended in sports supplementation and physically active people, as well as during convalescence after injuries and certain diseases. Available as mono-preparation supplement or of multi-compound supplement (usually also containing chondroitin, hyaluronic acid, and ascorbic acid).
Dosage: 10-20 g per day.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) it is a vitamin soluble in body fluids, can be taken from foods (fruits and vegetables), or as drug derived synthetically.
