Olimp AAKG XPLODE powder® is a highly valued dietary supplement containing L-arginine in the best assimilable form, bound as salt with alpha-ketoglutaric acid. It provides muscles with proper blood supply, which is reflected in the increased transport of essential nutrients, providing the tissue with the stores of energy and building ingredients.

L-arginine is an exceptional amino acid. Theoretically, the organism is able to synthesize it in the ornithine cycle without the need to provide it from outside, however, it is not done in sufficient amounts. Many factors influence the abilities of the organism to produce L-arginine, including primarily age. Year by year, the ability of its biosynthesis drops. Diet and supplementation also have enormous influence on the production of L-arginine. Therefore, we call it a relatively exogenous amino acid, as in case of deficiencies and increased needs, it should be provided from outside.

L-arginine in an enzymatic reaction is transformed to NO, i.e. nitric oxide. It plays important regulatory functions in the cardiovascular and the immune system. When it comes to the structure, nitric oxide is a free radical, thanks to which, it easily penetrates through cell membranes, which conditions its activity. After reaching the endothelium of blood vessels, it has the ability to activate cyclic GMP, which as an internal transmitter directly conditions physiological diastole of smooth muscle layer. As a result of this process, the lumen of vessels surrounding muscles is widened and along with larger blood flow, the amount of transported oxygen and nutrients (glucose, amino acids) to muscle tissue is increased. During training, it is reflected in increased muscle efficiency and inhibiting strength limits and after finishing training, it considerably accelerates regeneration of muscle tissue.

The influence of L-arginine on anabolism - the increase of the concentration of intracellular cGMP, both in the pituitary gland and in the pancreas, to which NO easily penetrates, induces the synthesis and secretion of anabolic hormones: the growth hormone and insulin. The increase of muscle mass mainly depends on their level. Apart from this, L-arginine constitutes one of the precursors to endogenous creatine synthesis and contributes to its increased transport as well as improves general nitrogen balance.

Pro-health effect of L-arginine - this amino acid facilitates the work of the immune system and the pace of healing wounds by the stimulation of macrophages. Additionally, it slows down the process of aging and has the properties accelerating detoxification processes. Due to its invaluable preventive effect on the ailments of the vascular system, the group of people who studied positive influence of arginine and NO on health were awarded Noble Price in Medicine. L-arginine is also used in erection disorders, as an agent strengthening potency. Positive influence of this amino acid was also proven on the urinary system and regenerative processes of the liver.

Additionally, L-arginine is essential for the biosynthesis of agmatine and other biogenic amines, which are produced as a result of its decarboxylation and play an important role in numerous biological processes. Sole arginine has the properties which intensify the synthesis of NO and induce spermatogenesis, but it also has proven protective influence on nervous and thermogenic cells, leading to lipolysis, i.e. fat metabolism acceleration.

L-arginine alpha-ketoglutarate – in short AAKG is a compound of the character of organic acid salt. Unbound L-arginine, in the free form is not stable and under the influence of gastric juice and digestive enzymes, it is quickly broken down to carbon dioxide and water. Its stability is increased after binding with a keto-acid, which is directly reflected in its increased absorption.

The preparation Olimp AAKG Xplode powder® is in the form of powder, thanks to which, after dissolving in water, its absorption and bioavailability are additionally boosted. This form provides the ability to adjust the portion of arginine to your own needs. You will complement the remaining supplementation with no problems.

The product is easily soluble and has sweet orange taste and one 150 g packaging will last for the whole month of regular training with the recommended dosing. Highly-concentrated form constitutes as much as 3750 mg AAKG in one portion.

To sum up, Olimp AAKG XPLODE powder® is a high-quality dietary supplement with the highest bioavailability of L-arginine on the market, which constitutes an essential part of supplementation of each sportsmen before and after strength and endurance training. If you aim at increasing strength and muscle mass and your own sports results in professional or amateur discipline, we especially recommend Olimp AAKG XPLODE powder®.

Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate

Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate (AAKG) is a salt glutaric acid and arginine. The presence of these compounds results in intensification of the operation of each of them. Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate improves the bioavailability by stimulating the decomposition to CO2 and H2O, which means that it becomes a precursor in the synthesis of nitric oxide. It has anti-catabolic properties enhancing anabolism. Enhances the functioning of the insulin hormone, insulin-mimetics IGF-1) and somatotropin growth hormone.
AAKG is part of the pre-workout supplements (improving muscle blood flow and increasing the exercise capacity (strength and endurance)), as well as improves the recovery process after training. Most often used to increase the synthesis of nitric oxide (supplements pre- and post-workout), increasing muscle blood flow and regeneration. Particularly valued by the representatives of power sports, power and strength sports and strength athletics. Used very often in the rehabilitation of sports injuries.
