Linseed oil is a source of fatty acids belonging to the Omega-3 acid (α-linolenic acid [α-linolenic acid] ALA). It is a precursor to EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), the compounds which are the ingredients of both cells, as well as participating in the synthesis of other compounds, necessary for normal body activities (such as prostaglandins, thromboxanes). The metabolic processes reduce the level of triglycerides in the blood. A positive effect on thinking processes and the ability of cognition, allows for a higher concentration mostly of high-performance athletes. They support the burning of fat (lipolysis) and the formation of fat (lipogenesis), allowing for a higher silhouette aesthetic. Supplements and linseed oil alone are useful for supplementing the diet with bioactive components.
